Concrete Patio in Elk Grove Village, IL
Elk Grove patios are mostly replacements in Elk Grove Estates and Charlemagne, where the 1960s and 1970s houses came with small rear slabs now cracked and settled. Because lot sizes are consistent, the design conversation is about how far the patio can extend rather than coverage limits. Going from 16-by-20 to 20-by-24 in broom finish costs less than you would expect and buys more than a stamped upgrade.

Elk Grove Village specifics
The village permits patios and slabs and reviews added impervious surface. On the blocks near Salt Creek the ground is low and drains slowly, so we confirm the patio runoff has somewhere to go. Where a homeowner wants a hot tub, that section is thickened to five or six inches with mesh.
Questions
Should I spend on a bigger patio or a stamped finish?
Size, in most Elk Grove yards. Going from 16-by-20 to 20-by-24 in broom finish changes how the space is used. Upgrading a small patio to stamped costs similar money and changes only how it looks.
Can the patio support a hot tub?
If we build for it. A filled tub concentrates far more weight than furniture, so that section gets thickened to five or six inches with mesh. Tell us at the estimate and it costs very little extra.
Do I need a permit for a patio in Elk Grove Village?
Yes. The village permits patios and slabs and reviews the added impervious surface. We file and coordinate the inspection.
