Concrete Patio in Hanover Park, IL
Patios in Hanover Park go into back yards graded for drainage rather than outdoor living, which is the first thing we look at. Greenbrook and Hanover Highlands lots slope gently away from the house, but the heavy Ontarioville clay means water reaching the patio edge sits there. A 16-by-20 broom-finish patio is the common ask, and the same footprint stamped costs noticeably more.

Hanover Park specifics
The village permits patios and slabs and reviews the addition against your lot coverage. Because the clay drains slowly, we pitch every patio a quarter inch per foot away from the house and make sure the runoff has somewhere to go. An expansion joint isolates the slab from the foundation.
Questions
How much does a patio cost in Hanover Park?
Footprint and finish set it. A 16-by-20 broom-finish patio is the baseline and stamped and colored costs more. Sizing up costs less per square foot than the first hundred feet does.
Will a patio cause water to pool against my foundation?
Not the way we build them. Every patio is pitched a quarter inch per foot away from the house with an expansion joint at the foundation, and we confirm the runoff has an outlet before pouring.
Do I need a permit for a patio in Hanover Park?
Not the way we build them. Every patio is pitched a quarter inch per foot away from the house with an expansion joint at the foundation, and we confirm the runoff has an outlet before pouring.
