Epoxy Garage Floors in Hanover Park, IL
Garage coating in Hanover Park runs into one obstacle: the Greenbrook and Hanover Highlands slabs are fifty to sixty years old and most have salt spalling along the first six feet inside the door, where snowmelt drips off the car. A coating will not bond to flaking concrete, so prep here includes grinding, crack chasing and patching before any primer. Two-car garages are priced on area and system, with repair added.

Hanover Park specifics
Coating needs no village permit, which makes this one of the few jobs where the schedule is entirely ours. What matters is slab condition: spalling deeper than about half an inch, or a floor cracked into rocking sections, means a coating is money on a symptom. We moisture-test too, since some 1970s garages here were poured without a vapor barrier.
Questions
Can my spalled Hanover Park garage floor be coated?
If the spalling is shallow, yes: we grind, chase cracks and patch before priming. If it has crumbled deeper than about half an inch across a wide area, replacement is the honest answer.
Why do older village garages need a moisture test?
Some of the 1970s garages here were poured without a vapor barrier. Water vapor coming up through the slab blisters a coating months later, so we test and switch to a vapor-mitigating primer where the reading calls for it.
How much does an epoxy garage floor cost in Hanover Park?
A two-car garage of 400 to 500 square feet is priced on that area and the system, with crack and spall repair on an older slab quoted on top of it.
